i am making sure i understand the wiring correctly on the p1353me timer, it is replacing an old mechanical timer that ran the single speed pump, swg, and heater. From what it looks like i need to use mode 3? i hook 240 to terminals 1 and 2, jumper from 1 to 3 and hook equipment up to 2 and 4?

Since you have 240 volt and no cleaner pump, I'd use mode 5 and hook 240 volts to 1 & 2 and jump 1 to 3 and 2 to 5 and hook the pump to 4 & 6. That way both legs are disconnected when the pump is off.
