I just purchased a foreclosed home with a 20,000 inground plaster pool. The pool was 28 years old and was not maintained properly. It still had the old Titan DE filter. I had it completely renovated, plaster, tile, concrete deck, filter and sweep. This is my third home with a pool and I have always maintained them on my own. Pool services are too undependable. I have learned much from this site so far and I am attempting to advance my knowledge chemical testing. I will continue to ask questions ere and also include my experiences. I must admit that having a pool most of my life as a homeowner, I am quite the novice at maintaining them.

Welcome to the forum!!!

Reading Pool School a few times with teach you a lot about the chemistry. Have you order one of the recommended test kits yet? It really is the key investment to maintaining your pool.
