Testing Ph while shocking for algae.

Could you tell me will a high chlorine level effect Ph testing? I am shocking for algae and am wondering if I should test the Ph levels while keeping up my chlorine up to shock level. Thanks for the help, Cannwmor :hammer:

Next time you have to shock, I would lower the pH to around 7.2 before you begin the shock process. Chlorine is more aggressive as a sanitizer at a lower pH. Don't overdo the pH adjustment, though...7.2 is a good target, but make sure you do not go below 7.0 under any circumstances.

Once you begin the shock process, do not bother testing the pH for the reasons Jason stated.
