Diamond Brite includes quartz in the plaster while Pearl Brite does not. Quartz can give you better colors and improves the lifetime of the plaster noticeably. Pearl Brite includes some un-named additives that supposedly improve the lifetime of the plaster but they don't say how, nor has there been enough time since it came out for us to have a real world experience based opinion about it.

Thnaks, jason. Good to know. So, If one got a quote for diamond at $2700 and another guy quoting pearl for $2800, its a no brainer, right (as in go for the diamond for even lower cost)?

Also, any fading to be expected in the deeper blue colors with either?

    Thaks for the advice!

Quartz doesn't ever fade. The only thing something like fading that can go wrong with quartz is calcium scaling, which covers up the color with calcium (which can happen to any finish if you let the water chemistry get out of hand). I don't know much about Pearl Brite specifically, but many of the darker plaster mixtures are prone to mottling (random lighter and darker areas), which again isn't fading but can look something like fading.

Thanks, Jas. Right- thats it- a kind of "mottling", on darker shades/colors. Im gonna stay away from dark, though. Anybody have a feel for difference in pricing though? Should the better diamond cost considerably more? 20% more? 50% more? About the same?
