    scale/acid wash

    How effective is an acid wash on scale built up on the tile and grout. I am getting a lot of conflicting opinions on this. Thank yoU!

    An acid wash supposedly takes years off of the plaster. Seems like a lot of trouble to go through just for the tile and grout which can be dealt with with dilute acid solution for the toughest spots and a little elbow grease.

    While the disadvantages 257WbyMag mentioned are indeed issues, an acid wash is the only fully effective way to remove scale buildup.
