New 1hp whisperflo too much power.

I just replaced my entire pad for the exception of my filter. I have 1 1/2 plumbing below. I had no idea what pump was on the pool before. My psi with pulling equally from hot tub and pool are about 16. Used to be with old pump 4psi. When using the hot tub psi is 26. What do you think about downsizing impeller to 3/4?

Using a smaller pump/impeller will save you on electric costs, it will also reduce the strength of the spa jets (unless you have a separate spa pump). Given your description, those are probably both good things in your situation.

Realize that most pool equipment is rated to 50psi, so the pressures you list are not unreasonable. Previous house ran at least that high while running the spa.
