    calcium chloride deicer in the DFW area?

    Anyone know where to buy in the Dallas metroplex?
    20K gal IG plaster pool, Manually chlorinated with 6% bleach, 1.5 HP Sta-Rite Dura-Glas II pump, Pentair FNS Plus 48 DE filter, Polaris 280

    It is a blend, I wouldn't use it. Look for the 100% calcium chloride. I found it at Walmart.

    BTW, this is the product I found at Walmart: Morton Safe-T-Power Calcium Chloride, 9lb
    As you can see, it is only a 9lb container. If anyone in the area stumbles across the 40lb bags please update this thread with store and location. I was very surprised that Tractor Supply didn't carry it.

    Most pool stores carry (or can get) 50 lb bags of calcium chloride for a reasonable price. Just call local stores for pricing.

    That may be true in your neck of the woods, but I don't think so around here. But if I'm happily wrong someone please enlighten me!
