    heater starts maybe 30 seconds to one minute after power on

    when i turn on power switch to my teledyne heater it takes about a minute for the heater to turn on is this typical or not to worry

    Welcome to TFP.

    How long have you had the heater?
    How old is the heater?

    It really sounds normal to me. It should go through a self check before it powers on.

    about 8 years but it works well other than the start up

    Mine takes at least that long if not longer. Maybe a minute and a half. Once it power up it goes through a self check and fires up.
