Hello,
I am new to this forum and a new pool owner. We inherited an indoor pool with the house we just purchased. It was never maintained properly and we've slowly been bringing it up to good performance. I've had it serviced a few times by the same person who seems like he knows his stuff.
The pool heater died yesterday and our service person recommends replacing it with a Pentair Mastertemp 175,000 BTU. He says cost of the pentair plus installation and rewiring etc is $3000. I was not prepared for this and I've been doing some research online (with little success). The units sell online for about $1700 so is this $3000 price crazy? He says install is about 4 hours so that ends up being $1300 in labor. I am new to pools but this seems really high.
Any advice or info on the price quoted is very much appreciated. Thank you for your time!
