Trying to figure how much wire I need to bond pool.
Does this sound right?

24ft dia. pool, buried copper wire approx. 2ft away from pool.

26x3.14= 81.64ft
plus extra for attaching it to four places to pool, water bonder, and back to pump.

Does this sound correct?

Thanks in advance
Jeff

On my 24' pool I used roughly 110' of bare copper #6 wire.(#8 wasn't available)My equipment is 8' from the pool.The electrical inspecter where I live wanted the bond wire to be 18"-24" from the pool 4-6" deep attached to 4 places on pool bottom track equally spaced(I have resin uprights and top seat),he also wanted it to be 1 single piece of wire with no splices(not code his preference)luggs had to be direct burial listed.For my water bond I used an 1-1/2" X 6" stainless steel nipple attached to the suction side of the pump and a grounding lug attached to the nipple. http://www.lowes.com/pd_72271-15527-413 ... +grounding Basically started at pump ended at water bond at pump.

good video showing AG pool bonding. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6KMtrIa2x4

CB's 110' sounds about right.

If you draw a circle with a 2' bigger radius than the 24' pool you actually wind up with a 28' diameter circle. That makes it take 88' just to encircle the pool and then you have to add 8' just for the 4 attachments to the pool and that makes it 96' minimum just to bond the pool wall.
