I am trying to get a ball park on the cost to shoot gunite steps up to a slide... 9 steps, 12" deep, 8" rises, curved. PB would back fill with dirt, lay rebar on slope, then shoot and carve steps. Can anyone give me a rough ball park on what that would cost?

How about a picture of the area? I'm having a hard time imagining it...a lot depends on how much backfill and concrete would be necessary. Did he quote you something much higher than you expected?

He probably had the same sticker shock I had when I was quoted $5K for a 4 ft tall water feature. Then I got 4 more pool quotes and every quote was within $200 for the same water feature. 
Actually, it was included in my full pool quote (not broken out) and I am going to do stone steps myself instead. So I am trying to come to a reasonable number to get credit for.
I was going to supply fill dirt. Only rebar, gunite, labor and moving dirt in to place was in quote.
