Problems with pump

(Sigh!)

So we were planning on winterizing our pool and lo and behold, the motor on our pool pump died on us and now we're getting nasty brown water. It didn't seem to match the filter system to begin with (it has a 190L Jacuzzi Laser Sand Filter). We have a 33 ft round pool, so about 25,600 gallons. We have leaks all over the place on our filter, so ideally we need to replace everything, but for financial reasons, we're thinking of just replacing the pump at this point to at least get the water circulating so we can at least CLEAN it and get it all treated and closed and then hopefully replace the filter next year when we open.

What we're needing info on is what exactly is the appropriate size filter for our pool and can anyone recommend something reasonable, as well as info on a good motor for our pool. Not sure what the flow piping size is on our pool, but my husband thinks it's 1.5". He thinks maybe that needs to change, but I don't know.

Any suggestions anyone can provide would be helpful.

Thanks very much!

Sherry
