    Freezing Temps & Pool Heater

    Hi;

    We're expecting temps in the 20s overnight and I want to protect the new pool heater from any possible damage. Obviously, I could leave it on but I would prefer to leave it off. The heater is drained and by-passed for now.

    Should I try to blow any excess water out and/or add some pool anti-freeze to the heater?

    Thanks for any suggestions,

    Gary R.

    Do you have a drain plug at the bottom of your heater? If so, remove the plug to make sure the heater is drained of water. Your heater will be fine if the water is removed.

    OK, thanks for responding!!

    On this heater there are two drain plugs, one on the inlet/outlet and another on the return header. Both have been drained so should be good to go.
