I opened my pool up this past week after becoming one of the BBB faithful last year, and am glad to report that, although the water was a bit cloudy, it wasn't the pea green soup it was last year when I opened it. I did a quick check with my K-2006, and found my Cl-0 (expected), pH - 7.4 (great), TA - between 80 - 90 (also great), and my CYA around 20. So, we have CYA in a sock over the side, and added bleach this evening to shock level.
Interesting tidbit - I went ahead and put a skimmer sock on the skimmer basket, and have had to clean it three times already. It wasn't just dirty, it was caked up with Crud coming out of the pool, so much that it was giving the pump some grief. Better in the sock than in my filter, though.
