Hi,

I'm looking for some help with replacing an old style 2 port Clormatic III CM601 cell with one of the new Jandy AquaPure 1400 3 port cells. My current installation is show in the photos below. The cell seems to be butted up very close to the elbows and tees, with no spare pipe in between. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way of doing this? Thanks! Steve

Buy a Hayward SP14952S union kit and use the nut and tailpiece portion. The nut will thread onto what's left after you take the cell off. 90 degree elbow up out of that and loop back down to the pipe that goes into the ground. Put the cell in the down side of the loop going into the ground. Leave the old flow sensor and fitting the and just cut the cord.

After looking a little more you may not have to do a loop. Either way, get the Hayward union kit and build from there.

Or...
Cut between the tee for the sensor and the valve.
You can get a 2 1/2'' pvc coupling to go over the outlet of the black valve(Jandy) then 2 1/2 x 2" bushing and continue plumbing the new cell. Don't know how much the union kit is, but may be less than the coupling and bushing.
