Removing side panels from old spa

Hi, I have a '95 Hotsprings Jetsetter with a slow leak that only seems to happen when the heater is running. A friend told me something with the heater is probably loose, but the only way to gain access to the area in question is to remove some side panels. The panels on this model (they are wood) do not have screws or staples that I can remove-they appear to be tongue in groove. Any ideas on how to remove them without damaging them?

They are stapled and glued into place. Best way is to carefully pry them apart, or flip the tub on its side and go from the bottom. The foam on the underside is VERY tough and will cut you if you try to manhandle it out. I've used an angle grinder to cut sections of it out and poke and prod with a wood dowel. If the dowel comes out wet, you are in the are of the leak.

Good luck! Leaks in hot springs spas are a PITA.
