    question about closing

I was thinking of buying a winterizing skimmer plate so I would not have to drain my pool below the skimmer. I guess my question is, is there any way of blowing your skimmer pipe and adding anti freeze without buying/installing one of those plates?

What do most people do, just drain the water below skimmer and be done with it? In the past that's what I did but I thought it may be quicker and save water by using the plate.

I took a vacuum hose section and stuck it in the skimmer hole and blew till it clear. You could get a open ended gizmo and do the same thing.

Bought the open ended gizmo. I wish I found this years ago. So simple.
