New pool and water sitting still over weekend

Water and backfill today, BUT they trucked in too little water.
Filled few inches short of skimmer so will not have pump/filter on over weekend until
water topped off in 3 days(Monday).
Water looks great right now. Builder said it could "sit there a week like that without getting cloudy".
I would hate to get junk growing in there at all though, clear or not.

Question: Do I not bother to test the water and put any chemicals in while it sits there motionless?
OR do I test, balance, shock with some manual "stirring" or wall brushing?

I'd suggest testing and adding and manually stirring in at least some chlorine. That way it won't turn green on you while waiting. An ounce of prevention type thing!

Took about three days to fill my pool and I added chlorine daily and stirred it just to have a little chlorine in it. Like bama said preventing an algae bloom is far easier than killing one once it starts.

You can use the pole and hand skimmer to stir around some chlorine.

You can even dilute some bleach in a 5gal bucket then walk around the perimeter while adding slowly...then skim the pool a bit. Adding in the evening will at least keep the chlorine in there overnight.
