Hi
My latest figures for a start

SWG

FC 2
CC .5
PH 7.8
TA 170
CH 240
CYA 85

My PH is where I want it but my T/A needs to be at 60 - 80. If i use acid to lower my T/A then My PH will alter as well. Do I then use soda ash to raise my PH again. Pool calculator says to add 3 litres of acid to bring my PH down to 7.0

Cheers
Brad

Did you try using the Pool Calculator (PC) ? I'm sure one of the experienced peeps here will walk you thru getting on track... I'd help you, but I'm VERY new. Your FC is very low in my newbie opinion..

What do you normally chlorinate with? Bleach? Pucks?

Lower pH - muriatic acid (also lowers TA)

raise pH - Borax....has little affect on TA

Lower TA - use aerate/acid method described in Pool School

Raise TA - add baking soda (has little affect on pH)

Update this morning.
FC 5
PH 7.2
T/A 140

The PH has dropped as per TPC. But the TA has only gone to 140. Do I give it more time as I don't really want to drop my PH much more?
Yes, give it time. A TA of 140 is not too bad. Just keep the pH between 7.3 and 7.5, and the TA will slowly come down. As the TA comes down, I would slowly begin raising the pH target to about 7.6 to 7.8.
