Pool pump - Jacuzzi Magnum Force auto shut off?

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if this pump, or all pumps have an auto shut off if the pump ever stops getting water? Or it has some sort of technique where it will not burn itself out?

I am just curious because we have a tree in our backyard and lots of leaves on it and they are starting to shed, and if the leaves ever build up enough in the skimmer, even overnight while it is running or when no one is home, will the pump shut off? or overheat so it shuts off?

most only have a shut off feature if the motor overheats ... that may not happen if the pump ran dry and you would still get pump damage.

Some of the newer pumps with suction sensors (SRV?) Would actually shut off.
