    Borax Availability

Anyone out there having trouble finding 20 Mule Team Borax? I have been to two different WalMarts three separate times over the past three weeks and there in none to be had. The space where it is supposed to be is empty. Just my luck?

People use it to make homemade laundry soap also. That might be contributing to the short supply. Some grocery stores in my area carry it too, but it might cost a bit more there.

    Re: Borax Availability

A number of us have used boric acid, since the price shipped is not much more than the borax/MA route...and it is easier to use. I bought mine at http://dudadiesel.com
TFP Expert who uses Pool School and my TF100 test kit along with PoolMath for my: Round 11K gallon AGP with deep end, 20" sand filter, Matrix 1hp 2spd, 6 2ftX20ft solar panels (and solar cover!), Intex SWCG (copper bars disconnected) and a Rubadub hot tub (chlorine). The SLAM process is not finished until: 1. CC < 0.5 ppm, 2. An OCLT < 1.0 ppm and, 3. The water is crystal clear.

    Re: Borax Availability

I needed 11 boxes for my pool, and all the Walmarts near me were always out as well. My wife actually went to Customer Service and had them order 15 boxes. They were supposed to call when they arrived, but of course that didn't happen. We went the day after it was supposed to arrive and they had already stocked it on the shelves. Needless to say, we cleaned them out.

Four supermarkets in my area sold out their stock. I had to go to another town to purchase it. Next time, purchase it before pool season starts.

    Re: Borax Availability

Do any of you know if there's a place in Canada to buy the boric acid online? I use borax and MA now, but would use the boric acid if I could acquire it.
