    Returned from vacation to algae

    Left for vacation with clear water,
    ph= 7.5

    Put the cover on on left. 10 days later, measurement, including cc were the same, but there was green stuff growing in the seams of the liners.

    Shocked and vacuum, pass all 3 crieria in relatively short order, lots of dead algae to vacuum up.

    Through all of this, cc was never > 0. Does that make sense? My reagent is from last year, but it was stored in a dark closet inside. Could it be bad?

    CC do not always show up with algae. Pretty odd if your FC was maintained by the SWG that algae grew ... does not make much sense.

    Follow the shock process, including clearing the water and it should not come back.
