Flock granulates? Can they be used to remove CC?

They sell something called flock granulates/liquid here in the EU. They say it is used to combine micro organisms that would otherwise pass through the filter into bigger chunks that can be filtered.

Is this chemical worth it even? Can it be used to filter out Combined Chlorine?

Not for CC. Occasionally useful if your water is cloudy and the filter does not seem to clear it up ... rarely needed. It makes the suspended particles sink to the floor and requires you to vacuum to waste, not into the filter.

Seems like some have luck with it and others find it makes things worse.

There are other cheaper methods to help a sand filter clear the water.

Shocking is your best bet. Follow the instructions in Pool School to the letter and it should clear it up.

Also CC can build up if the pool remains covered a lot.

The sun helps break down the CC, but if they are high, the shock process is the best route because they must be coming from something.
