Hi new guy here, I have not had a pool in years and am very much intrested in trying the BBB methods but find the older I get the more help I need.

New pool installed this week using pool store start up kit and recommendations.
Here are the results of my test from last night using current kit.

TC 2.4
PH 7.2
TA 270
CH 350
CYA 0

Pool calc. results

FC: 58 oz of 6% or 4.1 oz of trichlor
PH: 78 oz by weight of washing soda or ash or 155 oz by weight of borax
TA: no change
CH: ?
CYA: 93 oz by weight of stabilizer or 242 oz of liquid stabilizer

pool water is 72 deg. and clear.

Does this look right or did I do something wrong?
Any recommendations or input is much welcomed.

Thanks
Jim

Welcome to TFP.

Following BBB isn't very labor intensive at all. In fact it's less work than the pool store method.

The first thing to do is get a good test kit and do your own testing.

Your FC is low so a little bleach is needed now.
Your pH is fine don't add anything to it.
TA is high but it'll come down as you adjust the pH down when it needs it.
Your CH is fine. As long as it doesn't get higher, don't worry about it.
I don't know whether to believe the CYA number.

What have you used so far to add chlorine to your pool? (trichlor, dichlor, cal-hypo)

If you'r sure you haven't added any at all you need to add about 40 ppm worth. Which is about 6 lbs.

mineral clear is a sequestrant.
I don't know what Clear shock is but it's most likely dichlor
algae clear is algaecide.
durachlor is dichlor too

If you've added 3.5 lbs of dichlor that's raised your cya by 12 so you need to add a little more.
