question about bromine!!!!

So is bromine something you add to your pool in addition to chlorine or is it a chlorine substitute? My water has been crystal clear since day one my levels are all stable and would like to add bromine to my water if it will help the feel of the water and the look.

Bromine and chlorine are both sanitizers. For outdoor pools, chlorine is a considered a better choice since bromine is significantly more expensive and is broken down faster from the sun.

If you want to change the feel and look of you water, try adding salt or borates.

It has some algaestatic properties, it can help stabilize ph, some people say the water feels "silkier", it changes the refractive index of the water, creating more "sparkle".

See the link I posted above for more details on adding borates.
