Does clear solar covers realy get the water warmer?

I just got a solar blanket, and since this thread just resurrected, I thought I'd share something I just learned the hard way.

If I leave my cover on during the day, it prevents the natural loss of FC due to solar effects. With my SWG dialed in to maintain FC 6.0, this caused my FC to shoot up to 26.0 in just two days. Being that I just came off my opening SLAM, I got a second unnecessary SLAM for free. :D

So lesson learned: If I want to leave the cover on during the day, turn my SWG off.
