We have a Summer Escapes10x30. We recently added a Intex 1600gph sand filter and we bought a cover. Every since adding both of these, our water has had a funny smell to it, like an algae smell. We test the water everyday and all of the levels are normal. We add algaecide every 3 days and shock once a week. The bottom and sides of the pool are not slippery and the water is crystal clear. Could the sand in the pump or the cover be causing the smell?

There's your problem. You need to follow the recommended maintenance on this site. The algaecide alone will have a smell and covering it won't help.dbarnes said:

Also, telling us "all the levels are normal" doesn't tell us anything. We need real numbers.
Thanks Dave. I will include real numbers next time. That was my mistake. I will check my FC numbers and see where they are. Thanks again for the advice.
