    21X43 AGP Install PROJECT!

I started this project the beginning of June with clearing 12 trees and digging up the stumps. I still, as of today, do not have the wall up. This project is taking everything I have. We have hit so many obstacles along the way. The latest this weekend was the discovery of the builders debris site. 8 feet down from original grade while digging the deep end, I discovered buried stumps. Spent 7 hours digging the ones out I could, and the last one cutting out with a chainsaw. Only to discover Sunday night after getting some help from a neighbor to carry the wall to an area that I can handle by myself, that the underside of the wall where it was laying on the pallet had a hole poked through, and a bunch of dents and scratches!

I'm so over this project right now.

    Bummer about the wall hole.

Hang in there. I haven't dug out that many stumps but I have dug out at least 6-8 by hand so I feel your pain. Once you get the poo up you will truly enjoy it. You have a beautiful setting for it.

My dh said if he had known how much it would cost (we underbudgeted for the deck) and the extra work of the deck, he wouldn't have done it. But once he was in the pool - it was so totally worth it.

People always ask who helped me or how did I do that around the house. I always tell them my 2 best friends helped me, Massey and Ferguson. Its more than worth its weight in gold for me. 2 years old and almost 400 hours on it so far. I've put 32.5 hours on it just working on this pool since June.

Tractors with loaders are great. My little Kubota would look cool with a backhoe. Looking good on your build.

    Re: 21X43 AGP Install PROJECT!

I finally finished it last night. At least to the point I am ready to put the wall up. The entire floor has been leveled with 3/4 Process(3/4 stone mixed with stone dust) and compacted damp with a plate compactor. Its as hard as concrete now. My plan for the floor is called pond silt. It is a mixture of clay and sand for the base. It compacts and should give a nice bottom. This is what some of the local PB use as an upgraded bottom and I was lucky enough to find where they get it from. I hauled and used 9 tons of 3/4 process and have 10 tons of pond silt on hand. I'm not sure if the 10 tons will be enough or not.

The wife let me buy a dump trailer this spring. This project sure has helped justify that and the tractor purchase

    Re: 21X43 AGP Install PROJECT!

Here are 2 pics of the damaged wall. My wife is still arguing with the pool company. They finally spoke on the phone yesterday. They were going to do some more investigating and get back to us today. So now we wait.

In case they wont replace this thing is there any ideas on how/best way to repair it? My thought was to pop rivet a piece of metal on the inside of the pool over the hole and paint it. Then duct tape it up good. As for the outside I would have to paint it to protect the metal that is all scratched up.

The question we are asking the company is how is this affecting the warranty? The 50 year warranty? I would think if nothing else that would cover this is some manner. I don't know. Frustrated thats for sure!

Great looking build site, great use of that tractor.
It's frustrating that someone somewhere knows they wrecked that pool wall yet they just let it go thru and onto a customer anyways, someone else's problem.
I really like how you did the side posts, never seen that method before.

I hate dealing with companies customer service, they are all a joke. It's even better when they don't speak English well.

Was the wall ever replaced by the company and did you get the build done?

    Re: 21X43 AGP Install PROJECT!

Wow! I can't believe I never finished this thread! No they would not do anything about the damaged wall after going round and round for 2 weeks. Yes I did finish the pool.

What I ended up doing was flattening out the damaged area, painted a few coats of primer and paint to try and protect the area as best I can. Then I cut a piece of metal round so there were no points, primed and painted that also, and put that on the inside of the wall to cover the area, and duct taped the edges with 4 layers to protect the liner. Then installed the foam wall and then the liner. I will get some finished pictures up soon. It ended up taking me 3 months from start to finish, where the kids were swimming in it. Not something I want to do again!

Am I allowed to say? I just read through the rules section and I'm not sure on that. If a mod will give me a yes then I would be happy to tell you who we bought it from.

    Re: 21X43 AGP Install PROJECT!

It was a long night on the grave yard shift with my laptop in front of me. I usually go back 20 or mor pages and just look around.

That's terrible that the pool company did not replace that wall. Since the said NO and that's that, it should be fine to say who you ordered from since they settled it with a BIG FAT NO!

I would love to see updated pics.

    Hi jasonlk1,

I'm looking to build this exact pool. I'd be interested in where you bought it from also. Thanks for the pics, very nice work.
