Should Autopilot be turned off while backwashing

I have a autopilot dig-220,i read in an earlier post that the swg should be turned off
while backwashing and rinseing,I have been leaving mine on ,it is my first full season with it,
I leave all of my lines open and have the autopilot manifold installed,
should I turn it off while backwashing?

There should be a flow switch that is not activated while backwashing ... You should not need to physically turn it off.

Although I am not fully familiar with that setup.

you do not have to turn the AutoPilot off when backwashing.
