First Test - Help Please

Hi TFP Warriors,

I received my TF100 yesterday and just completed my first test. I used the pool calculator but I don't understand what I should do next. I bought some BB & B today so I'm ready to get my pool cleared but I don't understand what and how much to put in the pool. Currently, it's cloudy, has a few black spots at the bottom, and a little green around the edges. Here are my scores:

FC: 4
CC: 1
TC: 5
TA: 120
CH: 260
CYA: 30
PH: 8.2
CL: 3
Br: 6

You are on your way now! You need to start the shock PROCESS!

First adjust your pH to the lower 7s.

Then due to the algae in the water and higher CC, you need to start the shock process ... see the article in Pool School.

Ask if anything did not make sense.

Just to be clear, use liquid chlorine NOT any powder called "shock"

Right after you lower the pH like Jason said, right?

Yes. I'll work on lowering the PH first then start the liquid SHOCK process. Thanks again for the help.
