Tried a new one over the weekend. Put wooden skewers horizontally through a good cleaned onion. Slice the onion thick so that each slice has a skewer through it. Baste with Italian dressing before and during grilling, then use the onion on a burger. Mmmmmmm........
A tip for good burgers. Don't make a patty, make a flat pile. A loose patty is a little harder to grill, but it tastes way better. A little liquid like BBQ sauce, Soy Sauce, Italian Dressing or Worcestershire and some bread crumbs will make the burger texture better for "piling".
