Excited to be here, and learning a lot.

Today, I learned how to make my pool cloudy, by adding Soda Ash directly to a plaster pool that is already got plenty of calcium. That was cool.

Tomorrow, I'll learn how to clear it up, I'm sure.

Greetings! I am curious to see your pool/spa, sometimes I refer to mine as a "big cool spa" because all the adults just sort of hang on the edges. Please post pics... if you don't mind. Thank you, and welcome!

Here's a shot of our pool. It makes a nice place to talk, in the summertime.

BTW, my cloudiness cleared up overnight, and my pH adjusted back up to 7.8 b/c I added soda ash (super washing soda). My TA went from 0-40 to 40-80. Great, but I think I need it higher.

I cannot wait for my TFT-100 to arrive . . . those test strips are like looking through dirty glasses.

When you do get your TF100, test your fill water. I'm betting you'll have plenty of TA.

You got those readings from test strips, huh? Don't get too surprised when everything is suddenly different when your kit arrives. 15th post

As Richard said, the strips are often outright misleading. I would hold off doing much else than adjusting FC and ph until you kit arrives.

I will not add anything more, except bleach to keep my FC up, until I get proper test readings.

Pool School is certainly keeping me busy.
