    Waxing Fiberglass Pool

I seem to recall our PB mentioned putting automotive wax on about the top foot of the fiberglass pool. Anyone done this before? Any automotive wax or is there something more appropriate?
I was thinking that a nice waxed surface would help keep the scum line cleaner looking.
