Intex Krystal Clear sand filter issue

First time poster here.

We have an 18 foot round Intex Ultra Frame pool which we love and the 14" sand filter. Our water was great for quite awhile and then all of a sudden, when backwashing, it would shoot sand back into the pool. That lead us to having to use Super Floc to pull it all down to the bottom. Our filter NEVER went above zero and a pool store told us that because we didn't know the pressure we might have blown something when the pressure went too high when backwashing.

We just purchased a new filter - the same one - yesterday and hooked it up. This one works MUCH better with pressure coming into the pool but it's STILL at zero.

Trying to speak with an Intex rep from Japan is just frustrating - they just are reading from a script.
Does anyone have any ideas why the pressure is at zero all the time?

Is the pressure at zero just when backwashing or when filtering.

If it's zero just during backwashing, that's normal. If it's zero when filtering, did you get a new gauge with the new filter or are you using the old gauge?

And are you definitely on Filter setting, and not just Circulate. Can't see 2 gauges reading zero.
