This is my 3rd season of owning a pool with a 3 year old liner. I started wondering what was going on when my deep end liner would get lighter and lighter each year. I looked up some info and found this site. I'm sold on BBB and plan to switch. For the last three years I've been watching my CYA go up and I didn't think there was a feasible alternative to pucks. So each year, I would buy my pucks, shock, and algaecide in bulk at Sam's to "save money" all the while wondering when I would need to drain my pool. It turns out Algaecide is a waste of money and shock is bleaching my liner. Screw that.

When I find out how to get the 10 bucks off, I'll be buying my test kit and doing Chemistry the right way.

I second the SpeedStir motion, I even use it with taylor's 1766 salt kit. This makes mixing accurate & fun.

I already had the SpeedStir in my radar. We used magnetic stirrers all of the time in back in my engineering lab technician days in the Navy. It will be fun to reminisce.
