Pool help

Hi there. My pool is cloudy and we have different opinions if it is slightly green or not. I'm not reading any CC's, so I don't know what to make of it. I'm trying to decide if I should shock and hold for a day or 2, or just try adding clarifier. Here's my numbers:

FC 4.5
CC 0
pH 7.7
Alk 110
CH 140
Cya 40

My chlorine is typically around 5, but there was one day (right about the time it started getting cloudy) that it dropped down to 1.5.

Any advice?

Bump the FC up a bit (say 10ppm-ish) and do an OCLT. That will tell you if you should go through the full shock process.

Clarifier should not be needed with a cartridge filter I don't think.
