I put borax in my pool yesterday and I must say that I love the way that the water feels now. It is silky feeling. It is almost as if the borax acts as some sort of surfactant. You can tell that the surface tension is lower, especially when performing tests. The meniscus, which used to be round at the fill level in the test tube, is now flat. Anyway, we love how the water feels now. I wouldn't say that it is as soft as a salt water pool's water but it is silkier than it was before.
