Going on Vacation for one week

If I shock my pool the night before I leave for a weeks holidays and put the solar cover on should I be okay as far as algae goes?

If your cover also blocks sunlight from the water, you may be able to get away with this. If not, a floater with some chlorine tabs would work if your CYA level is not an issue.
