Ball Valve Question

Brand new to the pool thing...

I had two ball valves installed, one under the skimmer and then the other after the chlorinator. If they pump is turned off, do I need to close the valves? I wouldn't think so due to the water sitting in the tubes.. The only time I would think to close them is to clean out the filter...

No need to close the valves (unless you have leaks and if you have those, you should fix them).
