How to clean solar cover

I had some algae, shocked for two days, and have now passed the OCLT. But, the solar cover was on the pool right before I noticed the algae. I assume I need to clean it somehow before I put it back on the pool or the algae will just come back. Any advice on how to clean it?

I clean ours by bringing the pool up to just above shock level.....and then putting the cover on the water. Using the pool like a giant bottle of bleach.
