trouble with an Aquatools water pump

I have an Aquatools water pump for an above ground pool.
Aquatools HP 2.0 Model: AT2412610
(insulated wet end pump)

When I went to start it to clean the pool to get it ready for the spring/summer the pump started and then shutted off and also shorted out a circuit breaker in the house. I contacted the manufacturer to find out about it and was told that it sounded that the pump is shorting out. Since it is out of the warranty I have to look to find out how much will be to repair it or to get a new one. At this time the pump does NOT starts at all.

After looking around found out that is best to buy a new one. The only problem is that a new one will cost about $350 dollars.
This pump is a 2 horse power and I need another pump with the same horse poser.

I want to know if anyone has any recommendations, suggestions on what is the best way to get a new pump.
If anyone is selling one as well or knows any other way that can help me with this let me know.

I need to get a working pump as soon as possible.

I live in the Fountain area (near Panama City Florida)

Also when they installed this pump they installed it via with pbc piping and they put some type of sealant on it.
When I called the company that the pool was purchased from I was told that they no longer install pulls like that and they use clamps on the connections so in order to get this tubes out and when put a new pump in might have to break the tubes and buy new tubes with the clamps.

Welcome to TFP!

Sometimes the pump motor shaft will bind up over the winter. When that happens it can often be freed up by moving by hand or with a wrench (with the power off!) Once the shaft has been turned a little by hand the motor will often start. Turning on the motor with the shaft bound up can often blow the circuit breaker.

The motor may indeed be shorted, but it is worth checking to see if the simpler fix works for you.

Quick question, where would you have to break the tubes to get them out? Looking at your pictures, I do not see any where you would have to break them.
