Intex Krystal Clear™ Pump & Saltwater System question

I'm a newbie to pools. I've just setup a Summer Escapes 17' x 48" metal frame pool and connected an Intex Krystal Clear™ Pump & Saltwater System to it.

I've added the salt, cycled it for 24 hours and started chlorine production. Everything looks good but I'd really like to either keep the pump running or run the pump at least while swimmers are in the water but it seems once you set the timer on the filter, it only runs once per 24 hours for the number of hours set.

Does anyone know if there is a way to cause it to run constantly but only do the chlorine production for the set time?

not sure that is possible work your setup. Do you have a good test kit to be sure your FC levels are adequate? Have you added stabilizer to protect the FC from the sun? If not, you will quickly bee in danger of a green pool.

Read through pool school if this does not make sense to you.

Yes I added cyanuric acid with the salt. FC is good just would like the pump to keep running.

The pump itself should have a three position switch... on, off, timer... that is what mine has...
Also, the intex pump owner's manual states not to have the pump running while the pool is in use...
