Need to Lower TA?

Hello All,

Everything in my pool looks great, but my T/A has been high since my pool company installed my new liner and helped to "balance" the water. I've managed to lower the T/A to 180 by using the acid/aeration method. My PH isn't rising above 7.5 after two or three days of aerating and plenty of swimming.

So, my question is, if I'm not seeing my PH rise too quickly and I have a vinyl liner, should I be killing myself to lower the T/A, or just keep the PH in balance if it does go above 7.5??

The only reason to lower TA is if you are not happy with the pH rising too fast. If yours is stable, don't make more work for yourself

Just keep the pH in check and adjust as needed.

What is your CH?

That's what I was hoping. Sometimes I get caught up in everything having to fit the targets. In constant search of the perfect balance.

As Bama asked being thorough, what is the CH? If it is really high, then the high TA could be of concern as in combination with a higher pH could lead to scaling.
