I just realized my pool does not have a drain cover. I did not realize the great importance of having the drain cover until I took the CPO class, and I want to get this fixed immediately. Thoughts on how to proceed with installing a drain cover(floor, not wall)?

How deep?
When I worked at the hotel... I could hold my breath for about a minute underwater... used a couple of 10# weights on a quick release belt to get to the bottom of 8ft pool to put the cover back on and put screws in... ever so happy when they bought the tamperproof ones - Last Time I had to go diving!
