water on pool surface filmy

New to the forum. Will provide the information I know. We have an above ground kayak pool. The water looks great and clear. I only notice the problem when the sun is hitting the water. On top it almost looks like a film. Like you would see on a pond but it is clear and you only notice it when the sun is shinning on the water. Any advice would be great! I don't want to buy a lot of chemicals I don't need!
We have the scum balls and I have added Leslies pool magic. We are new to pools so sorry if I am not providing enough info.

If possible, can you post your chemistry levels?
FC (free chlorine)
CC (combined chlorine)
TA (alkalinity)
CH (calcium hardness)
CYA (cyanuric acid)
pH

This will help give us an idea of what might be going on. Investing in a good test kit (like the TF-100 or Taylor K2006) will save you lots of money and time in the long run.

A good guess might be suntan oil/lotion/sprays. Welcome, and shoot us some numbers please.
