hydraulic oil in pool

We have a brand new 21 foot above ground pool for four very active boys. Hired a contractor to build a deck alongside the pool and his equipment broke a hydraulic line and spewed the oil into the pool. What Luck! Oil is also on grass and pressure treated wood but right now my concern is the water. So far, research is pointing me towards Natural Chemistry's Pool First Aid after I try to remove the floating drops/sheen with oil absorbent pads.

Any help or instructions would be so appreciated.

Welcome to TFP!

I'm sorry to hear about your problem. You have the right idea, get as much out physically as possible, use an enzyme treatment, and raise the FC level towards the high end of the normal range.

Since Jason has pointed you in the right direction I'll just say hi.

There are a few threads of other peoples dealings with oil. You can search those if you want to see what they came up with. Pretty much what you're planning though.
