draining pool

May be a stupid question: If I plan to drain the pool in a few days, can I stop adding any more chemicals? been dumping in tons of acid and not able to bring down TA for any significant amount of time. also has low grade algae.

FC 5-9
pH rises quickly to 7.8, been unsuccessfully trying to keep it near 7.2
TA 70-90, not been able to bring down to 60
CH 680 +
CYA 60
salt 3000 (non salt water pool)

Thanks.

it's been hard to keep the pool balanced: high TA and pH despite pouring in tons of acid and aerating; not able to maintain a low enough TA/pH to keep CSI balanced; high CH, high salt and frequent low grade algae are other factors.

Question is if I can let the pool go for A FEW DAYS if it's at least partially drained. Is it easier to deal with a clean startup pool, but waste chemicals now, or is it better to just shock it later when water is refilled. Sorry about the unclarity.

fill water CH 80-90 today, 125 last month
fill water TA 150-160
fill water pH >8.2 (bright red)
do not have salt strip to test fill water. will get it if it's important.

pool last drained 2.5 years ago, by half, due to high CYA, CH.
Had very little rain in the winter for dilution.

best option?
