16 Mil Solar Cover Reel Question

Wondering if anyone can suggest a strong enough reel system for a 16 min solar cover 16x32 size pool. Thanks.

Re: 16 Mil Solar Cover Reel Question

    I have one like this... ... ound-Reel/[/url]

I've been happy with it for 2 years so far. I have a 18x36 kidney pool with a 16 mil solar cover. It's barely tall enough though, once all the blanket is rolled onto it to avoid dragging on concrete decking. But as far as strength, the aluminum sections bolt together and seem strong enough. I'm not advocating for this specific one from intheswim, that's just where I got mine as they were having a winter clearance sale. There are probably taller ones, but I didn't have unlimited funds for it either...

    Hope this helps.
1970's kidney shaped pool. 23,000 gallons with concrete bottom and fiberglass walls, both painted in 2012 with epoxy paint. Single speed "energy efficient" 1 hp hayward super pump and hayward S-200 sand filter. Main drain leaks, and is thus disconnected. 16 mil ultraclear solar cover. Located in Northern Indiana. TF-100 Test Kit
