    newbie pool water tester

Well, I am going to try to start testing my pool water myself. I can do this. I am carefully reading all the instructions letter by letter, but online I see advice to test in ABC order (alkalinity, bromine, etc.) but my nifty new test kit says start with chlorine. Already??? I didn't get very far. What order should I test in? THANKS!

    Welcome to TFP!

Start with PH and chlorine, in either order, and then do all the other tests in any order. PH and chlorine are both time dependent, while the others really aren't.
