Just opened the pool the other day, and while trying to get it nice and sparkly discovered this site. I will probably have questions to post later on, but right now just decided to sign up and introduce myself. Look forward to asking all of my pool questions here. Right now I am working on getting the pH and alkalinity up, using none other than baking soda and borax. One of these days I plan on ordering the Taylor K-2006, because right now all I have is the hth 6-way kit.

I can't wait to get it, because I really want to know what is going on with the chlorine. Right now all I know is that Total chlorine between about 5-15 ppm. I would like to get a better idea what it really is. One question though. How is the hth kit for pH and alkalinity? I have been using it to get them balanced better.
